…being the presence of Christ CBF Global Missions …being the presence of Christ

CBF Global Missions Our purpose is to introduce people to Jesus by both word and deed, and our primary focus is on some of the world’s most neglected peoples. This purpose launches us on a journey ministering with and among unreached and marginalized peoples. As we travel, we are committed to collaborating with churches and Christians to engage in holistic ministries with the most neglected people in a world without borders.

Global Missions Vision Statements We will become and be: A seamless link between the local church and mission action. An advocate and partner to live out the love of Christ among the most neglected in our own communities and around the world. Wise stewards of CBF’s resources providing excellent service to our partners, constituents and staff. Effective communicators of the CBF Global Missions story to inform and inspire our partners and constituents to increasing levels of mission engagement. An excellent organization that makes an impact by employing strategic thinking, good planning, and implementation.

Global Missions Value Statements In being the presence of Christ, we endeavor to be… Christ Centered Cooperative Holistic Strategic, Innovative, and Responsive

What are “holistic missions and ministries?” Sustainable and appropriate actions that minister to the spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of people.

How are “holistic missions and ministries” done? In as many ways as there are cultures and contexts within which we work, we… Present the Good News and hope for change in individual lives and communities Demonstrate integrity in our daily ministry Recognize the dignity of and show respect for the people with whom we work Are faithful stewards of all personnel, material, physical, and spiritual resources Facilitate reproducing church-planting movements

Christ Centered – we are committed to: Biblically guided and centered ministry. Investing the time to stay spiritually directed. A prayerful approach to missions. A servant model of leadership. Expressing through words and actions the love of Jesus Christ.

Cooperative – we are committed to: Work in a team structure within Global Missions, with decision making at the appropriate point closest to the action. Network and partner with local churches throughout the world. Partner with the most neglected people. Build a participative, diverse, and inclusive community.

Holistic – we are committed to: Present the Good News and hope for change in lives of individuals and communities. Develop sustainable and appropriate actions that minister to the spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the most neglected people. Demonstrate integrity in our daily ministry. Show dignity and respect for the people with whom we work. Be faithful stewards of all personnel, material, physical, and spiritual resources. Facilitate reproducing church planting movements.

Strategic, Innovative, and Responsive – we are committed to: Listen to our two main constituents – local churches and the most neglected—and understand their needs. Respond to the needs of people. Develop, initiate, and sustain strategic, relevant, and innovative missions and ministries.

The Fellowship employs 163 Global Missions field personnel, serving in career, short-term, and affiliate capacities.

The work of CBF Global Missions is team driven. Some of our field teams include: Urban Ministries Transformational Development Sub-Saharan Africa Palaung and other hilltribes China Internationals Cluster Kurdish Gypsy

Guiding Principles Consensus as our basic model for decision making Focus on catalyzing, mobilizing and cooperation with other Christians. Decision-making as near to the points of accountability or impact as possible for effectiveness. Global, not provincial Respect and utilize each person's unique gifts Empower and equip basic field personnel units to be successful

You can participate in the work of CBF Global Missions by…

Praying CBF field personnel know that it is the prayers of CBF churches that enable them to work in the places God has called them. As you commit to pray for the work of CBF around the world, be sure and take advantage of the CBF Prayer Guide and the weekly prayer email updates.

Giving The work of CBF is supported almost entirely through the Offering for Global Missions. This Offering enables CBF to commission and send new field personnel, fund new relief and development projects, and be the presence of Christ among the most marginalized people in the world. This year’s Offering goal is: $6,100,000

Going You can participate in the work of CBF through group mission trips or individual opportunities to serve. For more information about a position that fits the gifts God has given you, visit: www.thefellowship.info

Learning You can also participate in the work of CBF Global Missions through a commitment to missions education at your church. You can order resources online at the CBF store, including CBF’s own missions education curriculum for all age groups: Form, Spark, Ignite, and Affect

You can also participate in CBF life by joining one of CBF’s new “communities of missional practice,” groups of people who have a common interest and intentionally come together to discuss this interest. Through these discussions, their knowledge grows, and they become more and more of an “expert” in this interest area. Current communities of missional practice include medical ministries, disaster response, church planting, economic development, peacemaking, and others

Partnering Your church can partner with CBF Global Missions through a direct partnership with Global Field Personnel as an “encouraging church” or through adopting a people group.
