About how many teenagers having sex will get a sexually transmitted disease? 1 out of 4 Over 25 kinds of infections are spread by sexual activity and 3 million teens will get an STD this year.

Could you have an STD and not even know about it? Yes, Many STDs have no symptoms. The only way to know you have one is to get tested.

Condoms protect you against all STDs? False. Since a condom does not cover the entire genital area, the infection can still be transmitted.

What is the most common bacterial STD? Chlamydia Three million people get it a year.

HPV is another name for what? Genital Warts- a virus If not treated, it can cause cervical cancer. Cannot be cured.

Kissing somebody with a cold sore could give you….. Herpes Simplex Virus 1(HSV-1). Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV-2) is the kind that usually comes out as genital herpes.

Can you get HIV from oral sex? Yes. The virus can be transmitted through bodily fluids like semen, vaginal secretions, blood, and breast milk

How long can a person be infected with the HIV virus but still test negative for it? 3-6 months It takes this long for your body to produce enough antibodies to be detected in your blood

Are there new drugs on the market that can cure AIDS No. Medication helps infected people stay healthier longer, but there is no cure.
