Can you guess the name of my animal? By, Tiana

Animal Group It belongs to the animal group called birds.

Features My animal has brown, gray, or white feathers with streaks of spots. There length varies from about 5 to 28 inches (13 to 17 centimeters). It also has sharp claws, big eyes, a beak, a large head, a flat face, and a short tail.

Habitat It lives in a hollow tree.

Food It eats mice, insects, moles and rabbits.

Family Life The mom has four chicks at a time. She keeps her chicks safe. The mom watches the chicks.

Unusual Facts They’re not like other birds. They are nocturnal. They see small animals in the dark. They have powerful wings. All of them look about the same. They hunt for other animals. It turns its head around completely backward. It can’t move its eyes much. It makes a variety of sounds. It may snap its bill. It has excellent eye sight.
