Fractions, Decimals, & Percents

Percent… A ratio that compares a number to 100 % = 100 Parts per hundred Percents can be between 1% and 100%, greater than 100%, or less than 1%

Fractions as Percents… Write an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100 EX.

Decimals as Percents… “Write it as you read it” Write decimal as mixed number or fraction Write an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100 EX.

Percents as Fractions… Write as a fraction with a denominator of 100 If a decimal percent, multiply by a power of 10 until the decimal is at the end of the number EX.

Ordering Rational Numbers… Order the following from Least to Greatest Order the following from Greatest to Least

Application… Behavioral scientists observed an elephant that slept about 12.5% of each day. What fraction of each day did the elephant sleep?

Application… The table below shows the results of a student survey about lunch. What percent of the students did not choose tacos as their favorite food? Favorite FoodHamburgerTacosSandwichesPizza Number of Students

Own your own… Write as a percent: Write as a fraction: Order from Least to Greatest:
