RIACES as a reference framework: the manual for self-evaluation of agencies To provide with basic elements for designing and conducting self- evaluation procedures to the evaluation and accreditation agencies To establish the reference framework –the evaluation standards– for the development of self-evaluation procedures To provide with a minimum structure to elaborate a self-evaluation report to the agency, as well as support information for the process To prepare basic orientations towards the external review of the agency including the procedure, standards and central features of the review of the international panel and the preparation of the final report

Accreditation is based upon a set of quality standards shared by the countries involved. Accreditation is programme-oriented and focuses on graduate mobility. Central-American Accreditation Council (CCA) Mission: To contribute to the on-going quality, relevance and integration of Central-American Higher Education through accreditation, the formal recognition of organisations for accrediting either institutions or programmes in every country or at the regional level. The CCA has been recognised by the Ministers of Education of the eight countries, acting as a full- competence and supranational body responsible for accrediting agencies.
