Problem and Solution How can we accumulate money through extra curricular activities? Lakota can save money by eliminating certain after-school activities.

Sources of Assistance high-school-sport-on-cutting-board.html (This is a link that talks about a school that wants to cut extra curricular activities.) high-school-sport-on-cutting-board.html First link doesn’t work? I did check the link from my paper. (This link talks about a school that did cut extra curricular activities.) Third link doesn’t work? I did check the link from my paper. (This link talks about activities outside of school.) (This link talks about an example of an organization that provides an extra curricular.)

Sources of Resistance ProblemsAvoiding It Parents, teachers, and students may not want to cut clubs. Parents may not like it because it takes away opportunities. Teachers may not like it because the might just enjoy teaching or being apart of it. Clubs may be the only thing that makes school exciting for students. Parents can try to get opportunities outside of school of influence them to teachers in the classrooms. Examples of opportunities are 4-H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and there are opportunities everywhere. Teachers can just teach in the classrooms or have a one time after school class, or fun day (that doesn’t cost any money. This may not be the biggest money saver than other solutions. You could: (a) raise school fees, (b) try really hard to get the levy passed, (c) kids have to pay money to participate in school spirit days, (d) have more things such as candy grams, friendship matches, bake sales, etc. Kids are being too lazy and going home and staying on the couch instead of being in a club. Not having clubs after-school will give kids nothing to do. We could come up with a club that is versatile that everyone likes. We could have it cost absolutely nothing. Either have something that is just time to get together or something like gym activities after-school.

Action Plan! Short term Goals:  Raise the amount of people to join  Increase the registration fee to participate in that activity  Limit the amount of money spent on materials  Only rid certain additional activities in Junior

Action Plan! Long term Goals :  Gain more money through extra curricular activities  Gain enough money to eventually bring back cut activities

From a Teacher’s Point of View We talked to teachers who run clubs to get their opinions on the matter.

Pros and Cons Pro (Good)Cons (Bad) Saves money Complaints/Unfairness Less Pollution

Thank you for Listening We appreciate your full attention and support for helping Lakota’s Budget.
