Course Prerequisite Teacher recommendation: To enter this course a student should have earned a grade of 90% or better in ALL previous science courses (7 th, 8 th,& Environmental Science (if sophomore).

Course Description Honors Biology is also known as “pre- AP Biology”, as it is the precursor to a college level biology course/AP Biology course. According to the College Board, Pre- AP Biology is based on the premise that “All students can perform well at rigorous academic levels.”

Course Description Honors Biology is an extended time course to accommodate the lab requirements.

This Class: IS: One step below an AP (advanced placement) course. Students typically take AP classes their junior & senior year, which counts as a college class (dual enrollment). Challenging & rigorous… Students MUST learn study skills & be organized in order to do well in a conceptual science such as Biology. IS NOT A continuation of Middle School science.
