The future of the program starts with the 8u level! 10u – Maintain a Delano 10u B team. Our projections will be less than last year, so we encourage each of you to recruit friends, neighbors and siblings. 12u – Co-op with Mound/Westonka at the A and B levels within the D3 league. Ice time will be split between DASA, Pond and Thaler (40-60) 14u – Co-op with Buffalo at the A1 (D3) and A2 (D5) levels. Ice time will be split between DASA and Buffalo (30-70).

What is Pre-concussion testing Pre-concussion or baseline testing is a computer test administered by a health professional (Athletic trainer) to assess an athletes balance, and brain function. It measures learning and memory skills, ability to pay attention or concentrate, and how quickly the student can solve problems. The ImPACT test is used by the Delano school district for all children in grades 7-12 who participate in contact sports for the school. Image C is a scan of a normal student athlete before a concussion. Image B is the image of is student athlete that has suffered a concussion Hadfield, J. (2008, March 13). Baylor research team captures first pictures of post-concussion brain swelling.

Pre Concussion Testing … highly recommended! When – Oct. 20 th and 22 nd Who – Delano Student Athletes, Squirt/10u and above Where – Delano Middle School, Computer Lab Administration – Delano Ridgeview Clinic will donate the health professional to administer the test Costs - $5.00 to take the baseline test If a concussion is suspected the post concussion test is $50.00, which includes an assessment by a concussion specialist which is often paid for by health insurance.

Volunteering $100 single Mite/8U player = 10 volunteer hours $200 single Squirt/10U, PeeWee/12U, Bantam or Jr. Gold = 15 hours $200 for 2 or more Mites/8U = 15 hours $300 for 2 or more players combination of Mites/8U, Squirts/10U, PeeWee/12U, Bantam/14U or Jr. Gold = 20 hours – The sport has been built on the backs of volunteers – Volunteering significantly reduces the cost of hockey – When done right, volunteering can make a huge difference and help make the season so much fun – Sign-up Genius – All association members are required to provide a volunteer check (jersey’s will not be given until check is received) ….
