THE SWIVL

Getting to Know You Passing the MARKER Stand up – pair – up Introduce yourself and share an experience When the MARKER gets to you turn to the SWIVL and share

Today’s Goal What is the Swivl? How does it work? How can I use it?

Using the SWILV What is it? A robotic platform that works with a smartphone, tablet or DSL camera to record presentations or class instruction

The Swivl Marker The Swivl Marker can be worn or held, and gives you one click control. It has a built-in microphone to capture the voices you need to hear. Add a second marker and place it wherever you need to capture group conversation

The Marker is: Connected to your device via Bluetooth The marker is a small wireless microphone It can be held or placed around your neck the swivl will follow and recorder QvY QvY FnrM FnrM How it Works

What Happens to your recordings? They go to the CLOUD Download the SWIVL app Once downloaded you will have to create a free account All of your videos will then go to your Cloud capture account

Swivl Settings: Connect to Wifi Turn on Bluetooth Settings: Connect to Wifi Turn on Bluetooth Download the Swivl App. It’s free. create an account.

The Swivl App The hub for control and content management. Wirelessly upload content with ease. Customize the Swivl Robot to do exactly what you want. Use it as a heads-up dashboard for presented content, reminders and time tracking to help you perform.

Swivl in the Classroom

wivl Confuse the power receptacle for the audio receptacle on the Swivl. Position your subject in front of a bright background such as windows. Place the Swivl in a location that could be easily bumped or knocked over.

Wear jewelry, scarves, etc. that might interfere with the audio transmission from the marker. Have sidebar conversations Move too fast. The Swivl can track the speaker but they need to move slowly. Record activity time during presentations

wivl Practice with the Swivl in advance of the presentation. Record a short practice segment at the presentation location. Play it back to ensure the audio is working. Position your device so that the audio jack is at the bottom of the device so the audio cable can reach between your device and the Swivl.

Always face the recording device Check the tilt of your device so that the subject is in the middle of the screen not the lower part of the screen. Make sure your volume is turned up all the way on your device when recording. Periodically check your video/audio before, during and after you record Make sure you align your recording device with the Swivl

How can a Swivl be used in our work?

How many in this room have recorded with a Swivl? Share your experience
