The technologies of the audit Silent Commerce Infrastructures:  Silent commerce uses wireless mobile communications, as well as advanced tagging and sensor technologies.  This technology is making everyday objects intelligent and interactive, while creating new information and value streams. It is “silent” because the objects can communicate and commerce can take place without human interaction.

Sentiment Monitoring Services:  SMS searches preferred sites or newsgroups on the Internet for opinions. Using advanced language technologies, it interprets the sentiment of the text towards a specified product or service and then provides the user with an analysis of the results.  SMS combines a search agent and a perception engine to present users with an instant gauge of market perception of any feature, product, brand or organization. The natural language processor of the perception engine achieves an accuracy of approximately 90 percent compared to opinion ratings ranked manually.  SMS is built using various standard software components to ease integration into existing IT systems. An easy-to-use interface, with user- defined search topics and parameters, reads any electronic content in multiple languages. Real-time responses are summarized and the results are clearly formatted and easily repeatable.

Activity monitoring: Fostering independence with camera-based tracking  Activity Monitoring explores the potential of using camera-based tracking technologies to gather intelligence and both understand and analyze how an elderly person’s life progresses. Intrusive or a safety net for disparate families? Without human presence, sensors act as our watchful eye, perhaps even proving more effective over time due to their lack of subjective thoughts.  Products exist today that use sensors in the home. Pressure pads on armchairs, panic buttons and doorway sensors give basic information about the actions of an elderly person at home.  Accenture Technology Labs in Sophia Antipolis is taking this idea one stage further, developing an innovative approach of analyzing and learning from long-term patterns of behavior. In an apartment-like room a proof-of-concept prototype has been installed which shows how Activity Monitoring can work in the real world.
