DODGE LITERACY MAGNET CRISIS PLAN SCENARIOS

Expectations C Voice 0 to 1 when appropriate H Use parking lot, post-its A Listening/Discussing/Presenting M Seated, taking care of own needs P Everyone, everyday S uccess!

Thinking back to our drill week..  What if……  What do we do when….  How do we….

Plan of Action  Every team will receive 2 scenarios: one scenario every team will receive, the other is specified according to your hallway. These scenarios are purposely vague because typically in a crisis, all aspects of the crisis are not identified.  Your job is to discuss these scenarios with your team and write your team’s ideas to the safest and quickest response to the scenario.  You will have about 5 minutes to do that now!

Houses  In just a moment you will break into your houses!  Your CST member of your house will be your scribe to write down team’s/house’s ideas for Scenarios Scribes will also serve as your spokesperson at the end of our discussion.  The discussion for each scenario will be timed and have a specific team member to describe the scenario and begin the discussion.

Don’t forget your paper, and get moving!!!

Let’s Discuss  You will have one minute to discuss the fire drill scenario, scenario 1, without scribing.  Kindergarten team will begin with their ideas and continue by discretion until the timer goes off!

Intruder (pre-k,k,1 st )  1 st grade house member will begin describing their scenario and explaining the safest and quickest response their team came up with.  Discuss any changes that could be made while your scribe writes down your houses ideas until the timer goes off.

Bomb Threat (2 nd /3 rd )  2 nd grade house member will begin describing their scenario and explaining the safest and quickest response their team came up with.  Discuss any changes that could be made while your scribe writes down your houses ideas until the timer goes off.

Evacuation (4 th /5 th )  4 th grade house member will begin describing their scenario and explaining the safest and quickest response their team came up with.  Discuss any changes that could be made while your scribe writes down your houses ideas until the timer goes off.

Lockdown (Specials/CIS/Coaches)  Specials house member will begin describing their scenario and explaining the safest and quickest response their team came up with.  Discuss any changes that could be made while your scribe writes down your houses ideas until the timer goes off.

Reflections  Your CST spokesperson will now have 2 minutes to present your houses ideas for each scenario!
