When a believer lives out of who he or she used to be, it produces conflict and pain

When a believer lives out of his or her identity, there's peace and a changed life

God wants more… The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that you might have life…to the full - Jesus

We pursue what we believe Will bring us joy

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full - John 15 (Vine and Branches)

Living out of death produces death Having more of that which never Satisfied, still won't satisfy

Identity- who I am, orders what I do and how I respond to life Comes from what I pursue As my priority

If then you have been raised with Christ

This is who you are…

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth

All of these devalue people Made in the image of God And defraud ourselves Of the blessing of our identity In Christ

Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator

When I live in those things I am not living out of Who I am But who I was Which will never produce life

Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all

Anything that Separates believers - Except for biblical truth- Is sin

"But the peacemakers? Yeah…totally blessed" - Jesus

We don't use people For our pleasure or Personal pursuits It divides and causes pain When Christ desires to unify

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience

Put to death… Put on… For you have died…

bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive

What's missing? - They have to apologize - I need to feel it - They need to make it up to me

When does Jesus Do that with us?

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony

Love is… Leads to relationships Of harmony and peace

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body

Living out of life Produces life

And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom

Speaking the truth Thrives in environment of love Rather than control Or arrogance

…singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him - Colossians 3

Religious Rules don't work

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit
