WHAT IS A MOTHER LANGUAGE? A mother language is the first language learned from birth or learned ‘naturally’ during childhood. People can have more than one mother language when they grow-up in a bilingual or multilingual environment.

ARE MOTHER LANGUAGES IMPORTANT?
