Background Over last year, broad consultation with academics on classrooms Coordinator’s forums ITS/FMS/CAE/Library walk around with faculty, Deans, Associate Deans ITS Focus Groups Student and SAC feedback Renewal for computer labs Multi year capital projects and renewal Requests over the school year for new technology through Deans/Associate Deans, CAE directions, FMS comments, faculty needs and ITS Help Desk requests Risk mgmt/Security/PCI (credit card) requirements Renewal requirements

Major Capital Injection from College Computer labs – $550,000 Classroom upgrades - $350,000 + $150,000 FMS Wireless upgrades - $110,000 Server/Storage upgrades – $525,000 Security upgrades - $210,000 Network switch renewal - $220,000 Digital signage upgrade - $50,000 Other software - $90,000 Total of more than $2.25 Million $100,000 in facilities work – energy payback of 1 year

Computer Labs New computers Welland - L18, L19, L19a, S310, S334, M112, V6, some podiums NOTL – N302, N305, HT005, some podiums Niagara Falls - MM7 Upgrades and cascades Cascades - L5, L16, Welland open access/Commons, V1a,c,j, V4a,l,t, V5, V15c Monitors – E206, L17 Solid state drives – L17, S308 Some other computer lab upgrades from other capital

Classroom Teaching Technologies Upgrades TT upgrades to 42 NOTL and 22 Welland classrooms and computer labs Digital switching units (presentation switches) – faster change between inputs Proper HDMI (digital) inputs including sound – not two plugs Upgrades to projectors – brighter and better resolution (720p or better) More articulating arms and wide screen monitors (no resolution changes) Larger (and relocated) projection screens – 8 or 10 foot (or larger) Major upgrades to sound and better quality speakers Rewiring of many rooms Renewal of podiums FMS made some classroom refreshes to rooms with blinds, paint, electrical, lighting

Wireless New wireless infrastructure – redundant NC-Secure is college standard NC-Guest – approval by any CMT member (and some others) NC-PASSWORD_RESET – will allow connection to reset passwords Major upgrade to higher capacity and balanced access points in student gathering areas like cafeteria and learning commons (WC and NOTL) Better tools for management, security and determining coverage

ITS Support Enhanced hours - M-Th 8am-10pm and Fri 8am-4:30pm Help Desk phone and classroom support Student support in WC and NOTL Learning Commons/Library Remember classroom phones get priority at help desk New updated ITS Web site or ext Completely updated Mobile friendly Lots of Blackboard “how to” videos New ITS Service Request system - Heat

Redundancy and Risk Management Network between Welland and NOTL Redundant Internet at NOTL Still sorting out last pieces No wireless when in fail over Phone system Web servers mid September PeopleSoft registration system in Oct/Nov (after registration) New UPSs at Welland and NOTL with FMS help Fire suppression upgrades again with FMS help
