Timely Filing Last FECA Council Observation: Year 2011 Timely Filing wasn’t an issue with only 3 claims identified as untimely out of 48 claims filed for 2011! Improvement has happened largely due to education and training the field about the importance of timely notification and timely filing of claims. Jan Aug 2012 to date we have 34 new injury claims and none were filed untimely. That is awesome!!!

Challenged Claims Claims must be initially investigated by supervisor! If claimant case is questionable supervisors must report facts. We can challenge claims when filing the electronic CA-1 or CA-2 and supporting documentation There were two claims challenged and reviewed by Department of Labor claims examiner. Both are under review pending decision for possible reduction of entitlement.
