On the 29 th Of May Tenzing Norgay had been one of the first two to reach the summit of Mt Everest. In 1953 he also took part in John Hunt’s expedition. He was also a director of field training for the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling.

Throughout Tenzing’s life his mountaineering lead him to great awards and records such as.. Time magazine named him as one of 100 most influential people of the 20 th century. Became one of the first two to reach the summit of Mt Everest Received the George Medal from Queen Elizabeth II Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal

Could have died of dehydration Rope could have snapped Broken leg Fall into a steep crevasse To avoid all these severe risks and dangers they could have gone into the adventure with extra precaution. Tenzing Norgay’s partner Edmund Hilary had a near miss falling into a crevasse but was saved by hitting the bottom Tenzing’s prompt action in securing the rope with his ice axe. This shows his high awareness on their safety which would have helped him and his peers a lot on the expedition.

Where Tenzay and Edmund Hilary ended their climb.

I would love to go onto an experience like this because me being an outdoor person it would teach me a lot although like any other human being I would have a sense of fear in me which is all apart of doing things for the first time! Also my safety is important so if I was to go onto a quest like climbing Mt Everest I wouldn’t think about going if I didn’t have the correct equipment and knowledge for it. I have to be prepared since my life is at stake but yes, I would really enjoy the experience.

Double plastic climbing boots with aveolite liners Fully insolated over boots Ice axe/ Ice pick Ascenders Adjustable Ski Rope rope and more rope Carabiners Sleeping bag 2 pairs synthetic gloves Head torch Swiss army knife Backpack COMMITMENT AND HEART!

After years of experience and dreams, Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hilary achieved their goal within seven weeks of climbing and slowly slowly they reached the summit.

Tenzing Norgay had many years of experience climbing mountains and therefore in order for him to prepare himself to make this climb to the summit of Everest than he had a lot of fitness and experience to succeed. He also needed a lot of psychological motivations for his self confidence and boost up his mentality.
