 There are many definitions of marketing. The better definitions are focused on customer orientation and the satisfaction of customer needs.

 The marketing is a process in which the company implemented a series of activities to satisfy the wishes and needs of people.  The main objective of marketing is plan the services and products reach consumers through various marketing and distribution strategies.  As a result of meeting customer needs the company gets a profit.

Marketing consists of four variables or elements that allow the company to address its economic activity, based on the needs of consumers. These variables are:  The product / Service  The place  The price  Promotion

 To define consumer behavior: it is the study of consumers and the processes they use to choose, use (consume), and dispose of products and services.

 One of the main challenges of marketing is to satisfy the needs and desires of consumers and this is achieved when one can predict consumer behavior. Consumer behavior is the starting point for implementing marketing strategies to satisfy consumers.

 The study of consumer behavior focuses on knowing why an individual spends its resources (money, time, effort). The basic questions must be the What, When, How, Why, Who.

Researching consumer behavior is a complex process, but understanding consumer behavior is critical to marketers-they can use it to:  Provide value and customer satisfaction.  Effectively target customers.  Enhance the value of the company.  Improve products and services.  Create a competitive advantage
