Drugs A drug is any substance you put into your body that changes around your body’s chemistry.

Drugs as Medicine 3 Terms you should know! Drug Use: Using drugs for medical purposes Drug Misuse: Using drugs for medical purposes but taking the wrong amount Drug Abuse: Using drugs for non-medical purposes

What is the purpose of Drugs Prevent Diseases Cure Diseases Relieve Symptoms Preventing the flu Penicillin Relieves headaches

Beware when taking drugs (this also applies to illegal drugs) 1. Know the Drug- –Is it addictive –Is it safe 2. The route you take it –Injection is the faster –Pills have to absorb in the stomach 3. When you take it –After dinner –In the morning 4. If you are taking other drugs –Some drugs don’t mix well together and can cause problems
