Antonín Holý was born on 1st September 1936 in Prague. He died on 16th July He was a Czech chemist and one of the most popular naturalists. Antonín Holý discovered the antiviral in the treatment of HIV and AIDS.

He studied the organic chemistry at Charles university from 1954 to 1959 in Prague. He was the scientific aspirant of Istitute for organic chemistry and biochemistry from in Prague. He became the leading scientific worker in Antonín Holý was at the forefront of group of nucleic acids in 1987.

He was director of Institute for organic chemistry from 1994 to Antonín Holý taught at the Science faculty of the University Palacky in Olomouc in He was appointed professor of organic chemistry in He worked on the development of antiviral medications from 1976 until his death. Antonín Holý was author of 60 Czech patents.

The first medicine by Antonín Holý was Duviragel, it is antiviral. Cidofovir was approved for the treatment of viral inflammation of the ocular mucosa by the European Union in The most effective medicine against of AIDS is Viread. The medicine for AIDS called Viread was issued in Viread was approved for treatment of hepatitis B.
