ATFM Around the World NavCanada National Operations Center FAA ATCSCC AIRSERVICES AUSTRALIA NOC South Africa Central Airspace Management Unit (CAMU) ATFM is not a new concept of Air Traffic management. It is being practiced in various parts of the world to successfully manage balance between capacity and demand. As you can see Canada, USA Australia and South Africa have adopted ATFM concept of operation.

How do we deal with these?

ATFM Concept for the Region The existing ATFM models that are being used in USA, Canada and Australia might not be applicable to this region due to the political sensitivity. Thus a concept based on a collaborative framework would be the direction for us to pursue which might lead us to a Regional virtual ATFM units. As such it is of interest to us to explore and develop a viable ATFM concept to address the rising need to better traffic flow management for Singapore and the region. In this regard CAAS and Airbus ProSky has jointly embarked on a research project to address the challenges of Air traffic Flow in the context of specific operational dynamics of the region. 8

Managing International Flights at Changi Focus on major city pairs Engaging local based carriers
