The Election of Israel Election is see in two ways Individual,National Individual is soteriological and results in the salvation of the individual National Guarantee that God’s will for choosing the nation will be accomplished. The elect nation (Israel) will survive as a distinct entity Guarantee the physical salvation of the nation.

Why Israel? Not because of size God loves Israel To keep covenant with the fathers (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob)

What is the purpose of Israel’s election? To be a kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation To be the recipient of god’ revelation and to record it To propagate the doctrine of the one God (Monotheism) To produce the Messiah of Israel
