School Governance, Organization, and Equlaity Tom Pitock LBSU 300 March 22,

Organizational Strategies  Shared decision making practices.  Members of the school community learn collaborative skills.  Creates a caring environment for students. 2

School Policies and Practices  Should reflect society’s underlying values and philosophy.  All school employees should be stakeholders.  Embody the school’s beliefs relative to sociological character of the institution. 3

School Organization and Leadership  Will enhance or detract from developing learning communities.  Does it prepare students for multicultural and democratic societies?  Top-down leadership is unlikely to create a collaborative, caring cultures.  Democracy is discussed but fail to practice shared decision making.  School stakeholders; such as, students, teachers administrators, parents and community members, create a multicultural hub.  Parental involvement enhances student learning. 4

Thank-you! 5
