Better Assessment = Better Response Food Security Cluster

Key questions How will you know the BIG Picture? Who? What? Where? How much/many? Are you prepared to collect data asap? How well can you coordinate during disasters? Do you know ‘your role’ during assessments? Have you heard of JNA decision tree? ……….. ……….. ………….. ……………. Food Security Cluster

Timeline and milestones Phase 1 Assessment completed in 3 days. By the 4 th day after the trigger findings should be shared Phase 2 Assessment completed days from the onset of the disaster/trigger. NB: The completion of the assessment is when the findings (report and analysis) are made available. In disasters this is ASAP! Phase 3: data collection by 30 days Food Security Cluster

FSC Assessment Officer will contact District level Needs Assessment responsible FSC will inform DFPs about assessment decisions In a coordinated way, need assessment teams will collect data from government, community and household Trained enumerators will be requested to join the needs assessment teams Process Food Security Cluster
