What is EULLearN? What are the aims of the Network? What activities EULLearN carries out? Who are the partners of EULLearN? Where to find more information?

What is EULLearN? Forum of networking to share and test relevant and important issues, experiences and challenges of university lifelong learning in Europe Platform for developing new innovative European tools, learning materials and environments to support university lifelong learning Centre of expertise to support European dimension and European policies in university LLL initiatives

General EULLearN aims: To identify strategies and practical measures to foster university lifelong learning; To exchange and share ideas, experiences, good practices and actions to establish the European area of the lifelong learning; To develop the European dimensions of lifelong learning by supporting strategies on national as well as international levels.

EULLearN has 106 partners from 31 European country 15 new partners have joined EULLearN on 15 May 2005 PARTNERS

ACTVITIES OF EULLearN are carried out within three Targeted Thematic Groups (TTGs): TTG A - LLL Methods & Environments, Common Core References, Lifelong Learning Materials. Group Leader: Helka Urponen, University of Lapland (FI) TTG B - National University Lifelong Learning Networks and European Co-operation. Group Leader: Anikó Kálmán, University of Debrecen (HU) TTG C - Accreditation in LLL, TUNING (“Developing agreement and harmony in LLL structures”), APEL (“Accreditation of Prior Experiental Learning) & ECATS (“European Credit Accumulation & Transfer Systems”) in LLL. Group Leader: Aune Valk, University of Tartu (EE)

TTG A activities: LLL Managers eHandbook (more than 40 cases studies) WELL - The Web Exchange for Life Long Learning Masters Programme of LLL for Regional Development (It is designed to support students working in public and private agencies with an interest in regional development through the enhancement of lifelong learning opportunities.)

TTG B activities: EULLearN TTG B Workshops on co-operation between the Higher Education Institutions and the non-educational sector in the field of LLL Collect National LLL network case studies for the eBook; Setting up a Working Group with 1 representative from each one of the 31 EULLearN countries

TTG C activities: Organise seminars on APEL supporting European and national policies on LLL: 2 (in Hungary and Slovenia) held in 2005 Spring, 3 (Finland, Estonia, UK) prepared for 2005 Fall, 6-7 seminars more to be held. Compile and publish a book “Making LLL societies a reality: Recognition of formal, non- formal and in-formal learning in European universities” providing an opportunity to widen the knowledge and usage of APEL in different European countries.
