Social Studies Research Project Guidelines Spring 2014

Topics: O World Geography: International Food Festival O World History: Major Civilization/Time period O Junior High United States History: Biographies of Christian Leaders O Louisiana History: Louisiana Festivals O Civics: Supreme Court Cases

References: O 8-10 slides (including Title & Reference slide) O A minimum of 2 VALID sources will be used. O In-text Citation WILL be used on ALL information gathered O One citation per slide is sufficient if all information from that slide came from the same source O You must also give credit to any site/source that you take a picture from!

References O References will be listed and cited accurately using MLA format for all sources/images used in the presentation. O Reference slide and citations will be in MLA format.

Requirements: O Microsoft PowerPoint O Accuracy and relevance of information will be considered O Spelling and Grammar will be checked. O Background and text should compliment each other; easy to read, consistent throughout the presentation.

Requirements: O All information is presented in a logical order and keeps the interest of the target audience. All slides have a natural flow and look smooth when presented. Each slide is clear and purposeful. All content is accurate and there are no factual errors. O Slide structure and presentation is varied and engages the target audience. Vivid pictures and vocabulary captures the audience and is placed in an accurate natural order. Graphics are appropriate and relate to content; transitions are consistent throughout the presentation

Neatness & Originality O The presentation should show considerable originality and inventiveness. The content should be presented in an interesting way. O The presentation should be well thought out and professional looking in quality and information presented.
