Introduction Program which follows a pregnant woman exposed to HIV, to give her a chance of giving birth to non HIV infant. These pregnant women are followed from the first visit at the health center for ante-natal consultation to the day they give birth, and then the program continue to follow the infant born until the age of eighteen (18) months. PMTCTv
What does this imply? The pregnant woman takes different tests before delivery (Syphilis, CD4, TB,…); Results constitute the basic and important information on the pregnant woman status and will determine when the she can start taking the necessary drugs (ARV) to give chance to the infant; PMTCTv
