Presentation transcript:

Toxic ponds of Canada Topic: landscape Type: Long shot Event: It is a toxic pond disguised by its beautiful refection on the surface Photographer: Gareth Lenz Why I chose it: I chose this photo because it gives off a message or the phrase “looks can be deceiving” since this pond along with several others along either side of the Athabasca river is toxic and is a health risk to people.

UN soldiers in Africa Topic: Photojournalism Shot type: Close up Event: UN soldiers in Africa teaching government soldiers modern combat. Why I chose it: I chose this image because it represents the unity between white and black people and that there is no racial discrimination between one and another.

Cambodian resistance at Noordilicht Topic: Photojournalism Type: Medium shot Photographer: John Vink Event: people of Cambodia protesting against government about the civil society. Why I chose it: I chose this because it shows that the citizens of Cambodia are fighting for what they believe is right and show determination to see that through and the police officers riots shields represent a force that is stopping them.

Ebola Outbreak Topic: Photojournalism Type: medium shot Photographer: DANIEL BEREHULAK Event: Medical staff carrying an 8 year old boy suspected of having Ebola Why I chose it: I chose this image because it gives an insight to what is happening during an outbreak of a deadly disease and how helpless some people may think.

Topic: Photojournalism Type: medium shot Photographer: AZHAR SHALLAL Event: Iraqi gives assistance to his comrades who are wounded Why I chose it: I chose this photo because it reveals that humans can make war against each other but at the same time they can be just as kind to each other.
