Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors Our current membership is just shy of 1,000 people. Check us out at The membership includes staff from the fifty states and territories, as well as cities, counties, our federal partners and professional organizations. In 2014, our members donated 8,877 hours to working groups in five councils managed by the Board:

Collaborations Collaboration with EPA, DHHS, DVA, DOD, & OSHA for Federal Guidance Report 14: Radiation Protection Guidance for Diagnostic and Interventional X-Ray Procedures. Host the Medical Physicist Registry with AAPM. Managing the Radiation Response Volunteer Corps grants to states for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Collaborations Pat Mulligan (NJ) and Ken Evans (IL) maintain a constant connection to the Advisory Team for Environment, Food and Health Bill Irwin (VT) working with DOE and FEMA on the Radiological Operations Support Specialist. Tri-Chair Kim Steves (KS) and Frieda Fischer-Tyler (DE) maintain a constant connection to the National Alliance for Radiation Readiness.

Working Internationally Long-term work with IAEA: Joe Klinger (IL) on radioactive source recovery Earl Fordham (WA) on radioactive waste issues Bill Irwin (VT) representing CRCPD at the 2015 ICRP annual meeting. Jared Thompson (AR) will represent us at the IAEA annual meeting in 2016 Ruth McBurney, our Executive Director, represents us in the European Radon Action Plan Workshops Annually exchanging speakers with the Heads of the European Radiological Protection Competent Authorities, and IAEA

COMMITTEES AND TASK FORCES E-44 Task Force to Develop a Radiological Health and Safety Protocol for Orphan Sources and Radioactive Commodities Detected Upon Entry to the USA – Kelly Horn (IL) Chair – Gaining traction with support of the NRC, Customs and Border Protection, FDA and Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. H-38 Committee on Medical Events starting to gather sufficient data to see trends in machine-based events.

COMMITTEES AND TASK FORCES H-4 Committee on Nationwide Evaluation of X-Ray Trends completed its assessment of dental radiography. Report is upcoming. E-43 Committee on Interagency Environmental Data Sharing and Communication – Pat Mulligan (NJ) Chair – three additional national exercises including in combination with improvised nuclear device and nuclear power plant exercises. G-34 Committee on Industrial Radiography assessing states as Independent Certifying Organizations and Texas’ work providing certification examinations.
