A leader is considered fully trained and entitled to wear the Trained Leader emblem when the following training courses have been completed: Cub Scouting: completed Fast Start (for their position), Youth Protection training (online or instructor-led); Cub Scout Leader Specific Training (for their position, instructor-led) and This Is Scouting (online or instructor-led DVD).

Attach a training calendar to each letter. Encourage leaders to take advantage of future training opportunities.

For record keeping of online training, create a “holding bin” for new leaders who have not been issued a membership number prior to the completion of a training course.
