Funding for Roma inclusion EU funding alone cannot solve the situation of Roma need to allocate national resources Member States however could make better of EU funds for Roma inclusion

EU Funding for Roma inclusion Members States invited to amend OPs to support National Roma Integration Strategies use technical assistance to improve management, monitoring & evaluation capacities to obtain external expertise to prepare, implement & monitor interventions subcontract management of some parts of OPs to intermediary bodies with experience in Roma inclusion

EU Funding for Roma inclusion … Roma integration to be part of next EU funds to support NRP & National Roma Integration Strategies proposals to address current barriers simplified procedures possibly positive incentives to redress inequalities

Roma integration in Enlargement countries (1) lesson learned from previous enlargements: need for political commitment allocation of national funds coordination with all donors systematic evaluation & monitoring (Roma Decade) national Roma integration strategies & Action Plans to be reviewed in line with EU framework

Roma integration in Enlargement countries (2) Commission committed to: improve delivery of IPA support for social development involve Roma civil society through institutionalised dialogues with Roma representatives for policy formulation, implementation & monitoring monitor economic & social situation of Roma annual reporting in Enlargement Progress Reports
