Register with MDC Student from the institution recognized by MDC must register to have their names in the Register list. Appointment need to be done to register. Then, APC can be applied before proceed with compulsory service for 2 years.

Documents to be submitted for registration of dental practitioners under section 12(1) of the Dental Act 1971: Completed Form 4 of the Dental Regulations 1976 Basic Dental Qualification Academic Transcript Photographs Registration Fee National Registration Identity Card Birth Certificate National Registration Identity Card of husband/wife: Original and a certified copy Marriage Certificate Passport

Why can’t register? Guilty in: – Moral wickedness – Dishonesty – Fraud – An offence that punishable with imprisonment for a term of two years or upwards. – Infamous conduct Medical review : – unfit to perform due to reason of his/her mental or physical conditions.

So what happen next? His name will not be inserted upon registration. He need to be heard personally in front of the Council or by advocate and solicitor regarding those conditions.

Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) What is APC? How to apply? How APC can be terminated?

What is APC Certificate to practice, includes name and place to practiced. Practice without APC: fined of RM or maximum 3 years of jail sentences.

To apply APC Submit to MDC: – through form 8. – Charge: Rm100. – Before 1 Dec of that year. – Late submission: charge about Rm50. APC is published on the 1 st January. Not receive APC? – Cannot practice – Seek help from the council.

Any change of practice address permit must be done before 1 st December. APC must be displayed at the registered premise. But if display the APC without his name in registration, action can also be taken.

APC Termination The dentist show indecent behaviour and malpractice after being enquire by the council. What to do? pay extra fee Consult council for consideration to get APC back

Advantages Having APC Entitled according to his qualification. Case related to court, he can appeal to recover in due course of law reasonable charges.

Temporary certificate Who can apply? Person who registered as dental surgeon outside Malaysia The period: not exceeding three (3) months.
