The Legal Stuff Made Easy Step 1 Complete a “Notice of Intended Marriage” – This must be completed no less than 1 month and 1 day and no longer than 18 months prior to your Wedding Day To complete the form you will need: – Birth Certificate (Proof of legal identity and age) – To be 18 years of age or older – If previously married proof of no impediment to marriage (Certificate of Divorce or Decree Absolute)
The Legal Stuff Made Easy Steps 2 & 3 Just prior to your Wedding Day (e.g. at your rehearsal) Declaration to be signed by the couple On your Wedding Day Marriage Certificate (official and decorative) to be signed by the couple, two witnesses and registered celebrant. (Witnesses must be 18yrs of age or older)
