What is and what causes asthma? Asthma is a disease of the airways that blocks the airways, making it hard to breath. It makes you wheeze, cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath. Asthma is the most common long-term disease. According to the Asthma Foundation NSW, 1 in 6 children are affected by asthma, and 1 in 9 adults also have it. Some causes are: Laughing too hard Vigorous exercise e.g. running.

Prevention Don’t push yourself too hard When you feel tight in the chest, stop and relax. Try to live stress free :] Take a preventer!!!!!!!!!

Causes There is often a history of asthma, eczema or hay fever in the family. Exposure to cigarette smoke during pregnancy and early childhood significantly increases the risk of children developing asthma. Other factors such as exposure to allergens in the environment, e.g. house dust mites, pollens and moulds may also play a part.

Asthma attacks Asthma can strike anytime, anywhere, and it can kill. You can use an inhaler to relax the muscles in the throat. This in an inhaler If not used, the sufferer could DIE!!!!!
