Basic Info ASTHMA: is a disease that effects the lungs Is one of the most common diseases in children causes wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and night time/early morning coughing Did you know? if there is someone in your family with asthma, you are more likely to have it too, but you can’t catch asthma, so asthma is not communicable

Triggers Secondhand smoke Dust mites Air pollution Cockroach Allergen Pets Mold Too much exercise, physical activity, etc.

Scientifically… If you have asthma, the inside walls of the tubes bringing air to your lungs become sore and swollen When your airways react, they get more narrow and less air gets to your lungs and other vital organs of the body

Management Constant check-ups help Have an “asthma action plan” in case of an emergency Take your inhaler (if you need one) regularly

Treatment There is no cure for asthma The best way to treat your asthma is to manage it well

Diagnosis There are a series of different tests your doctor needs to run, and papers he/she needs to see, such as: –The lung test –Chest x-ray –He/she needs to see your medical history –You also need a physical test

Prevention Currently, there is no way to prevent asthma
