GENDER INDEX PROJECT

Objectives Counteract women discrimination in the workplace by supporting good workplace environments that promote equal opportunities for men and women in Polish companies Increase the level of labour law observance among employers in relation to gender equality and anti-discrimination regulations Increase the level of employers’ understanding and interest for activities that promote and empower women in the workplace

Main activities Gender Index Measure - a tool that analyses the workplace and a company’s personnel policies from the perspective of the equal treatment of women and men. Equal Opportunities Company Competition – national competition for employers involving in the first edition (2006) – 52 companies, and in the second edtion (2007) – more than 150 companies of different size and from different sectors.

Main activities Good Practice Guidebook „Gender Equality in the Workplace” - set of 58 good practices from 27 organizations covering following topics: ethical principles, recruitment, training and development, compensation policy, work-life balance, counteracting sexual harassment and mobbing, other activities that promote gender equality. „Managing Equal Opportunities Company” - Training for business – it is the first training model for business on equal opportunities policies and diversity management developed in Poland. Two days workshops were delivered for more than 100 employers.
