A Synthetic Electronic Nanopore for DNA Sequencing and Stochastic Sensing Davis Sneider, Aaron Choi, and Saifuddin Aijaz With Mentors: Dr. David Wendell, Dr. Vasile Nistor, and Ms. Elizabeth Wurtzler

Goals Learn and apply how nanopores can be used as sensors Learn how nanopores are helpful with sequencing Publish a paper countering the position of the creator of nanopores we are using.

Tasks Analyze data using QuB Paint lipid membranes Use nanopores as sensors for Norovirus Use nanopores for DNA sequencing method

Time Schedule Work on paper throughout, updating the preliminary information as we go Work on the PowerPoint throughout, adding important information and data as we go Work on the poster in the last two weeks after summarizing our data and making findings Learn to paint membranes, learn how to sense nanovirus, learn how to sequence DNA if time permits.
