BUSINESS SUCCESS THROUGH GETTING YOUR PEOPLE TO GIVE THEIR BEST

Employee Lifecycle Company culture and values New Employee Recruitment Induction Performance Reward Continuous Succession Management & Recognition Development Planning

Common Issue: How do we really do things around here? - Culture & Values Is it a conscious decision? Are you in control? What guides your decision making? What would staff say about you/management and the company? Have you created an environment where employees do what’s needed for business success?

Common Issue: How do we start off with the right people to build a team? – Recruitment & Selection Do you get the ‘right’ people? How do you identify & attract them? Do you ‘sell’ your company? Do you hire for attitude, train for skills? Has your recruitment process been reviewed/ changed in the last year? How do you handle ‘mistakes’?

Common Issue: How do I help people to perform ? – Performance Management Is there clarity of Role and Objectives? Is there consistency of approach? Are your managers comfortable with managing? Are people in the right roles? Do you/managers/systems help or hinder?

Common Issue: Am I paying enough or too much? What if I can’t afford anymore? – Reward & Renumeration Do you know what the total pay package is for groups and individuals? Do they? What do others in your sector pay? Do you have a non-financial reward strategy? Do you pay for results or attendance? Is there fairness/consistency? Do your staff believe that they are fairly compensated? Do you end up paying in an effort to get the right behaviours from the wrong people?

Common Issue: I don’t see how they will survive without me. We always need somebody yesterday. – Succession Do you consider the future needs of the business? Do you identify skills and experience required for the future? Do you identify and evaluate possible candidates for key roles? Do you assess for Performance Level, Ultimate Potential and Readiness? Do you communicate openly?

Common Issue: Staying within the law Are your policies up-to-date? Are you certain? What happens in practice? Do you focus on the ‘good’ employee but manage the ‘bad’ one? You only need a lot of bureaucracy if you hire the wrong people or if you aren’t managing properly.
