Ms. Kelliann Gellinck Math 7

About Ms. Gellinck I was born and raised in southern California I graduated with my bachelors from California State University, Bakersfield I am working on my Masters in Education currently This is my second year teaching 7 th grade at McClure Middle School. I have also taught 3 rd, 4 th, and 5 th grade.

Math 7 Framework

First in Math & Interactive Folder ▪ Interactive folders are designed to be a resource for students throughout the year. ▪ The notes will be a complete summary of the core concepts covered in 7 th grade. ▪ We will be cutting and gluing foldable notes into a folder that they can keep and use as a resource for this year as well as the next few years in math. ▪ First in Math is a web-based program. ▪ It is designed to provide supplemental studying for grade level math concepts. ▪ This program also offers lessons and games to build arithmetic skills and work on any areas of weakness in math. ▪ We will be using this program in the classroom, and students may be assigned to complete a certain amount of minutes throughout the year as apart of their weekly homework.

Resources Tutoring ▪ McClure Middle School offers AM and PM tutoring. ▪ The tutoring schedule will begin in September. Please check the school’s website for more information. ▪ If students have any questions, they are welcome to make an appointment in the morning to meet with me if needed. Blog ▪ My class blog is updated daily. ▪ It includes the learning target of the day and a summary of any assignments completed in class. ▪ A homework reminder will be posted, along with a link to the homework document. ▪ Any important reminders will also be on my blog for the school or class.

Supplies ▪ Workbook ▪ Agenda ▪ Pencils ▪ Colored Pencils ▪ Pens (colored ink) ▪ Highlighters ▪ Notebook Paper ▪ Interactive Folder ▪ TI30XIIS Multiview Calculator

Homework Late homework will not be accepted! ▪ Weekly Homework – Will be checked every day for completion – Students will be accountable for correcting homework – Homework will be turned in every Thursday with corrections made

Absences McClure Absence Policy A note from a parent/guardian or physician is required to excuse an absence. When your student returns to school, they must turn in the note to the homeroom teacher. ▪ Have your student check the blog for missed work. Ensure that they are writing down the missing assignments in their agenda to serve as a reminder to ask their teacher for the exact work they missed. ▪ The weekly homework is posted every day on blog if they lose their homework sheet. ▪ If you student misses a test, they will need to make an appointment with me to schedule a time to take the test.

Evaluation Tests 40% Quizzes 20% Classwork 30% Homework 10% Remember, you can set reminders on synergy to send you s if the grade drops below a certain percentage or if you would like weekly updates.
