 From the STLP Handbook:  The Mission of the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) is to advance the individual capabilities of students, to motivate all students, and to create leadership opportunities through the use of technology.

 According to the Handbook, the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) was established in 1994 by the STLP State Advisory Council. Student-designed projects, products, and services are created to help the school and community.

 Goal 1. The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of the student.  Goal 2. The STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students.  Goal 3. The STLP will participate in multi-age collaboration by forming innovative learning partnerships.  Goal 4. The STLP will form learning partnerships among students with different technology skills.  Goal 5. The STLP will develop activities which benefit communities.  Goal 6. The STLP will develop instructional activities which integrated technology and benefit the school and support KETS (Kentucky Education Technology System).  *Six Goals of STLP were taken from the STLP Handbook,

 Applications for enrollment go out in August to grades 3 – 5 at BES.  All applications are accepted.

 STLP Application for 3, 4, & 5 Graders!  What is STLP?  STLP Class I & II meet once a month on a Wednesday or Thursday.

 10 Third Graders  14 Fourth Graders  15 Fifth Graders  Total: 39 Students

 Our favorite project is the Lego robotics spider.

 We recycle the school’s papers. We have a partnership with Matt Gossom and the county landfill.  We recycle the school’s toner cartridges.  We assist teachers by downloading apps onto school iPads.

 Sept. - STLP PowerPoint – Who are you & How many years you have been in STLP. We collected 23 bags of paper for recycling.  Oct. - KY Safe School Week Computer Quiz, Digital Citizens, Cyber bulling, & Cyber Five Rules, Halloween cards. We collected 10 bags of paper for recycling.  Nov. - Thank You Cards to our Service Men and BES Veterans Day Program. Robotics-Baseball Bat. We collected 7 bags of paper for recycling.  Dec.- Mr. Nussbaum-Drap’ n Drop bookmark on iPads, Khan Academy’s “Hour of Code”, & Holiday cards for Addie.  Jan. - Game/Whack the Difference to help us get ready for state. We collected 20 bags of paper for recycling.  Feb. - Robotics- Spider  Thursdays BES by STLP students

 March - BES 101 iPad Assistance  April- Student Response Systems  May- BES Brochure

 Teachers and Staff are more trusting of students from STLP for technological assistance.
