Searching for Mittens By Breyanna Robinson

There was a little girl named Jennifer. She was five years old, and her favorite thing in the whole wide world was her cat named Mittens. Mittens was a little grey cat, and he loved to play outside with Jennifer.

One sunny day Jennifer and Mittens were outside in the back yard playing tag, and it was Jennifer’s turn to tag Mittens. It was hard to catch Mittens because she was so much faster than Jennifer. "Come Back here Mittens!”

When Jennifer had almost gotten Mittens, she jumped right over the fence! Jennifer called for Mittens, "Mittens!!!” Mittens wouldn’t come back, and she was afraid she world never come home.

Jennifer told her mom what had happened, “Mom Mittens jumped over the fence and got away.” Jennifer’s mom was a little upset, and said that they could hang lost cat signs all over the neighborhood, so they did, and hoped it would help. Lost Cat Mittens!!! Looks like we’ll have to make lost cat posters.

Several days after they hung up the posters, they still hadn’t heard anything about Mittens, and Jennifer got sadder and sadder every day, and soon she lost hope.

One day Jennifer got a bright idea, that would be able to help her find Mittens. She thought that if she and some friends searched all over town for Mittens, that they would eventually find her.

So the next afternoon Jennifer and all of her friends went searching around the neighborhood for Mittens, calling her, and asking people if they have seen her. Have you seen a little grey cat around? No I haven’t I’m sorry. Have you seen my little grey cat around lately? No I haven’t seen any cats lately I’m sorry!!

It seemed like nothing was working, and Jennifer thought that maybe it was time to forget about mittens. Suddenly there was a loud knock on the front door, and Jennifer slowly walked over to open it. Knock

But when Jennifer opened the door it was a man holding Mittens!!! She was so happy to finally have Mittens back home. I found her in my back yard, and I remembered your lost cat sign that I saw the other day. Mittens!!!!!!!
