Intro Rome is the capital of Italy. It is the second biggest city in Italy. Rome is Located in western Italy. It is 1, km 2 and its population is 2,461,477 Flag coat of arms
History/Romans Only men could be in the roman army. Roman soldiers wore sandals, with iron studs on the leather soles. Hard-wearing, but easy to slip when running on wet stones. You have to be 20 to join the army, and you had to be in the army for 25 years until you could retire with a pension.
Landmarks Rome has many famous land marks like the coliseum witch roman warriors would fight in. Trevi Fountain is a famous fountain, standing at 26 M high and 20 M wide it is the of the biggest in the city. The Roman Forum is a rectangular plaza surrounded by the ruins of several ancient government buildings.
Vatican City Vatican city is the worlds smallest country, it is found in the middle of Rome. The reason it is its own county is because it is were the pope lives. It is only 0.44 km2 and has a population of 500 people. Vatican city even has its own passports.
Food One of Rome’s best treasures is food. Some of the worlds best restaurants are found in Rome. Pizza is traditionally baked on a wood fire oven but it can be cooked in a normal oven. Pasta is cooked in boiling water and then meat and sauce.
Conclusion In conclusion Rome is a big city that has hosted major events like the 1960 Olympics.
