INTASC STANDARDS Standard #8 Instructional Strategies The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.

INTASC STANDARDS Brief Description: In this assignment we researched on the topic of cell phones. In this project we were able to research and see how cell phones are being used for learning. We also were able to see how cell phones are effecting the schools environment. Rationale: We picked standard number 8 because it talks about how teacher use different strategies to teach the different topics to the students. This standard goes with cell phones because it is a different way of learning martial.

Brief Overview Cell phones have been an issue in many schools. To deal with this problem schools have decided to make cell phones allowed at certain times in hopes to decrease the student using cells at the wrong time or for inappropriate things.

Pros of Schools Using Cell Phones Allowing the students to become young adults. Having students learn the right time to use a cell phone.

Pros of Schools Using Cell Phones The cell phone provides a camera, calculator, reorder, and text book. The students can view videos and can learn differently than the teacher teaches.

Pros for Schools Using Cell Phones The students can sign up for notifications to receive alerts during emergencies. They can give lessons to other students through video “selfies”.

Cons for Schools Using Cell Phones Teachers can not tell when students are using them for learning or when they are not. Teachers are tired of being the “bad guy” for taking cell phones.

Cons for Schools Using Cell Phones Students are using cell phones for games. They spark a constant battle for attention.

Cons for Schools Using Cell Phones Cell phones lead to texting which leads to a outcome of lower grades. Over the year the use of cell phones leads to lower GPA.

Open Ended Questions Do you think cell phones should be allowed in schools? What do you think about the pros and cons with cell phone use in schools?
