Introduction to Innovation: Outcomes Students Basic knowledge of innovations and innovative methods. Institution Development of a joint study module (Introduction to Innovation) for degree programmes in International Business and International Design.

INNOstudio® Topic Design of new value offerings for 2-3 local companies with the help of an innovative idea generation method (INNOstudio®) in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural settings. Participants Students of International Business (17), Design (7) and exchange students (13); Professors from NKUAS (3-5) and SPUEF; company presentatives (2-5). Outcomes Recognition of the benefits and challenges of team work in multi-disciplinary context; practising of an innovative tool for idea generation and planning. Practising the use of a pedagogically innovative tool in multi- disciplinary context. Developing methods for the joint study module and company projects for degree programmes in International Business and International Design. Companies gain new ideas for their product/service development. Companies

Mini PROJECTS in St. Petersburg Topic Market research for 3-6 North Karelian companies, which are planning to enter the Russian market, based on the use of innovative methods in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams. Participants 20 students of Design and International Business at the NKUAS 20 students of Marketing at the University of Economics and Finance, St Petersburg Guidance by professors from the involved universities Work load by students: 40 * 60h = 2400h Outcomes Students gain intercultural competence and experience in utilising innovative methods, institutions receive experience in design and supervision of projects in demanding settings, and companies benefit from accurate market information.

Mini PROJECT in Petrozavodsk Topic Market research for one North Karelian company, which is planning to enter the Russian market, based on the use of innovative methods in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams during a one-week intensive period. Includes introduction to innovation and INNOstudio®. Participants 10 students of Design and International Business at the NKUAS 10 students of Design at the International Slavic Institute in Petrozavodsk (and hopefully, 10 business students from Petrozavodsk State University). Professors from the involved universities Outcomes Students gain intercultural competence and experience in utilising innovative methods, institutions receive experience in design and supervision of projects in cross-border co- operation, and the company benefits from produced market information.

Design of new scopes and procedures for future co- operatation with the help of INNOstudio®
