Searching for information using the Internet AO2

Searching for Information As part of your task organising the French trip, you need to find out about different options for the trip. You must store some of this information for use in Tasks 4 and 5 of this assignment Use a search engine and suitable search criteria to find information on the internet about the costs of different options for the planned trip (eg transport options – train/ferry/plane costs, sightseeing possibilities/places of interest, evening activities in Paris etc).

Searching for Information You need to show how to search the Internet for information. In PowerPoint put the title SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION You are going to start by finding out the costs of travelling to France by ferry, train and plane

Using an ADVANCED SEARCH Click the advanced search tab in Google

Advanced Search Complete the form and screenshot. Explain why you are doing this search and what information you hope to find.

How do you know if you can trust a website? Who wrote the page? Do you recognise the name or organisation? Is the person that wrote the page qualified? Does a big company own the website? How recent is the information? Please put this in your Internet Information table

Finding more information Search for more useful information and add these sites to your Internet information table. You must find out the cost of the adult fare from Dover to Calais by ferry. Now research the cost of flying from London to Paris Find out the train fare from London to Paris
