MY EDUCATIONAL MANIFESTO BY: PETER ROBERTS

PLATO’S ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE PRISONERS ARE CHAINED TO A WALL IN A CAVE AND FORCED TO WATCH SHADOWS CREATED BY PUPPETEERS. ONE IS SET FREE AND ALLOWED TO LEAVE HIS PERCEPTION OF REALITY BEHIND

COMING INTO THE LIGHT THE MAN WAS BLINDED BY THE WORLD HE HAD NEVER KNOWN. THE PUPPET MASTERS NO LONGER HAD A GRIP ON HIS PERCEPTION OF REALITY AND HE COULD SEE WITH ONLY A CONCEPT OF TRUTH THIS IS PLATO'S IDEA OF ENLIGHTENMENT

ENLIGHTENMENT ENLIGHTENMENT IS THE ABILITY TO SEE TRUTH WITHOUT DILUTION SO MUCH OF EDUCATION IS TAUGHT TO US WITHOUT ANY CONSIDERATION OF CREDIBILITY. SOCIETY MANIPULATES OUR DECISIONS EVERY DAY VERY FEW OF ANYTHING THAT WE KNOW IS GENUINELY PURE WE ARE GENUINELY IGNORANT

LEARNING OUR GENERATION HAS ISSUES WITH THE ABILITY TO TAKE WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED AND TERN IT INTO KNOWLEDGE. IT MEANS LITTLE MORE THAN RECITING IT FOR A TEST THIS IS TEMPORARY AND LIMITS OUR COGNITIVE ABILITY

EDUCATION EDUCATION ISN’T JUST WHAT OUR TEACHERS TAUGHT US, AND ITS MOST CERTAINLY NOT OVER WHEN WE FINISH SCHOOL. STUDENTS NEED THE ABILITY TO THINK MORE THAN HAVING THE ANSWER. IT’S THE JOURNEY MORE THAN THE RESULT, BECAUSE KNOWLEDGE WILL TAKE YOU FURTHER ON YOUR NEXT JOURNEY

WHAT’S THE HARDEST PART THE HARDEST PART OF EDUCATION IS THE ABILITY TO LEARN AND TO ENJOY IT AT THE SAME TIME EDUCATION IS A LIFE LONG ENDEAVOR THAT WE CAN NEVER TAKE A BREAK FROM OUR SCHOOLS DON’T HAVE CURRICULUMS DEVOTED TO INSPIRING YOU THE INSPIRATION COMES FROM INSIDE

THE JOURNEY IS DAUNTING BUT THE REWARD IS GREAT MY FATHER IS A BRITISH IMMIGRANT THAT WAS THE FIRST PERSON IN HIS FAMILY TO GET A COLLEGE DEGREE HE JUST HAPPENED TO GET TWO TERMINAL DEGREES AND BECOME A PROFESSOR AS WELL HE HAS ALWAYS TOLD ME THAT AN EDUCATION ISN’T AN OPTION BUT THE KEY TO A BETTER LIFE “IF YOU FIND A LOVE OF LEARNING, YOU WILL NEVER BE A POOR MAN, AND I’M NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT MONEY.” KEN ROBERTS

WHAT IS WEALTH WEALTH COMES FROM SATISFACTION IT COMES FROM HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT AND NOT JUST MONEY A RICH MAN ISN’T SOMEONE WHO NEVER HAS TO WORRY ABOUT MONEY A RICH MAN IS SOMEONE WHO HAS CULTURE AND LOVES LIFE A LOVE OF EDUCATION IS THE BINARY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WASTED TIME AND MESSAGES THAT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH-OUT THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, AND PERHAPS THE BINARY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FULFILLMENT AND EMPTINESS

THIS VIDEO INSPIRED ME. I HOPE IT INSPIRES YOU AS WELL! THIS INDIVIDUAL UNDERSTANDS EDUCATION IN A MORE PURE CONTEXT HE SEES THROUGH SCHOOL AND LOOKS AT THE BIGGER PICTURE EDUCATION IS SELF FULFILLMENT AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS A REALITY YOUTUBE LINK:
