Retention Plan 2011

 DDS 2008: 92.2%  DDS 2009: 97.0%  DDS 2010: 92.5%  DH 2008: 82.8%  DH2009: 83.3%  DH 2010: 93.3%

 Selective admissions process.  Students who are not retained are reviewed.

 Developing Post Baccalaureate Certificate  Restructured scholarships  Student Ambassadors Program  On-going training with faculty

 All first year dental students and junior dental hygiene students are required to attend.  Students are informed of the rules and regulations of the school.  Students are informed of support services.

 All Dental and Dental Hygiene are welcome to attend.  Discuss the difficulties of dental school with students and their significant others.

 All Multiple Choice Exam Results are tracked.  Target at risk students.  Provide academic support.  Refer students to appropriate resources.

 Time Management  Study Skills  Personal Issues

 Third and fourth year dental students.  Work with students one-on-one to identify needs.

 Provide support for students on academic probation (earned below a 2.5 GPA).  Provide support for students who have been readmitted into the Dental or Dental Hygiene Program.
