Virtual Lab Experiment:  Research Model Development  With a partner think of as many requirements for seeds to germinate and grow. (4 minutes)  Now lets make a Model…….  Its a lot like a graphic organizer !!!!!

Research Lab Notebook - lets get started:  Page 1: Title Page  Page 2 and 3: Table of Contents  Page 4 and 5: Label with:  Page number  Title of Lab/experiment OR Research Question  Did you remember to add the date, title and page number to your Table of Contents?

Virtual Lab Seed Experiment Part 4 (all right side):  We are going to observe the effect of the environment on seed germination and growth?  Go to compare#plant_results compare#plant_results  With your group decide on a Research Questions and pick 2 conditions that you would like to compare (your control is chosen for you and the IV is your selection)  In your notebook on page 5 under Experimental Design write down the :  Research Question (put under title)  The control – Seeds Soaked overnight (10 hrs light and 14 hrs Dark at 23 o C  IV  DV

Virtual Lab Seed Experiment collecting data:  Compare the results from 3 different days. Check the boxes for the days you want to see then click “Compare Plants”  Select the pictures to see larger images  Measure the length of the root and the shoot using the virtual measuring tool  Record measurements in the data table in your notebook

Virtual Lab Seed Experiment Part 5:  Data is now analyzed using the excel spreadsheet and graphing  Open the document seed_data_sheet.xls on my website  Open the tab for Experiment and import your groups data into the excel spreadsheet  Two graphs will be made for you on the sheet, you can make a quick sketch if you want in your notebook under the data table.  After your graph is complete, SAVE the FILE as LASTNAME_LASTNAME_LASTNAME_BLOCK_SEEDLABRESULTS and the EXCEL file to me
