What is World Wide Web? An Internet-based computer network that allows people at one computer to access information stored on another. A single document in a web site is called Web page. These web site documents are stored on servers.

Knowing what is already on the Web It prevents you from reinventing the wheel. It makes you aware of valuable Web sites that can be added to yours as links. It gives you ideas that can enhance your own Web site.

Determine Intellectual Property Ownership Make sure that who will own and control the site before the constructing get started. Web sites must be treated as same as textbooks.

Plan Ahead Choose a clear file names and locate them in a single directory Avoid general file names, such as Psyc.htm or course.htm. Avoid changing the names and locations of Web files

Keep the Loading Time of Pages to a Minimum Making sure your Home page does not exceed 2 or 3 screens of material or sec of loading time. Using a graphics program to crop, compress, or reduce the graphic images on you Web site. Minimization unnecessary animation, images, and JavaScript programs, such as program that create animated images.

Appearance Matters Don’t allow lines of text to run the full width of the computer screen. Don’t crate table or images that are wider than 600 pixels. Don’t use white text on a dark background. Do use uppercase and lowercase letters rather than capital letters.

Appearance Matters Do develop a consistent style from page to page. Do provide a link to your home page on each Web page in your site. Do make sure visitors have a way to contact you, such as your address. Do provide an outline with internal anchors if a page is unusually long.
