When you run to catch up to the ball your heart picks up speed and pumps blood faster through your body then if you were walking. The heart would also pick up speed if you started breathing faster.
Immune system a good workout focuses your attention on deep breathing, proper posture and smooth motion. Even a brief workout gives your body a break from the bad habits fueled by the rigors of a daily routine. Stretching and getting your muscles moving helps blood circulation. When you combine that with strong breathing exercises, your blood move more smoothly, delivering better blood throughout your body.
