Between Questions Words like “Well”, “Right”, “Yes”, “Oh, I see”are useful. Connectives like “First”,“And”, “Then”, “Next”, “Finally” could be used in between questions Ask again for accurate answers and spellings if you are not sure. Sorry, could you spell the word for me?”

Listening & Taking Notes Listen very carefully Try to understand and do not jot down the exact words used by the interviewee jot down notes as briefly as possible - only key words are needed; do not jot down exact words used by the interview you could read out the key words while you are writing Exercise four hours a day, I see.

Reporting Complete sentences are not necessarily required so far the information reported is accurate. But try to avoid Yes/No answers. Reporting verbs instead of reported speech are preferred reporting questions are useful for the sixth question

Situation 2 You are Chris/Christina Wong, a senior personnel officer in Advanced Exhibition Co. Your company is going to hold an international exhibition on “Further education in Australia”. Your boss wants you to interview some F.5 students who are interested in working as summer helpers. Task One: Interview the applicant. Task Two: Your boss will ask for the information you have just got.

Situation 3 You are Joseph/Josephine Chow, a police officer in the Traffic Section. Your supervisor has asked you to collect information from a witness who has come to report a traffic accident. Task One: Interview the witness. Task Two: Your supervisor will ask for the information you have just got.
